What did Yeshua think of custom and tradition?
The first tradition Yeshua came to was the wedding in Cana where He did His first miracle at his mother's request. Yeshua corrects her, but honors his mother's request, she raised him and knew things he was able to do. I love this one as Yeshua probably would not have said a word about this tradition if it wasn't for the fact the scribes and Pharisees were attackng his deciples. The attack was: Matthew 15:2 Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread. and next Yeshua's defense of them as the tradition obviously didn't matter to him was: Matthew 15:3 But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition? I watched change over the years, it used to be that you saw manger scenes at almost every church at Christmas time even at city capitols. Then the church saying it was a pagan holiday comes out, then from there to calling things Holiday season. season greetings and totally getting away from Christs birth celebrated. So let me ask you a question as we are then a people that celebrates birthdays and that wasn't in all cultures, Jews did not do it. Most birthday celebrations happen when family and friends can gather, how many times do you think that happens on the persons actual birthday? Hardly ever, it is a chosen day that particular year to gather to celebrate a birthday happens on different days every year. Christ was set above that a specific day was given and everyone can be there. You were blessed with a holiday and a paid one at that.
A miracle happened and people are in the dark as to how God himself took over Christmas, I will talk about on Yeshua For The World as no credit is given to this miracle of God at all and only God could do this.
